Sitecore (CMS)
Sitecore is an enterprise level Web Content Management solution.
The University of Alberta began implementing Sitecore in 2010 after going through a thorough review of the campus needs and RFP process.
The implementation of Sitecore is being managed by Marketing in partnership with AICT.
The U of A is currently using version 6.4.
For more information on Sitecore, visit the Sitecore website for documentation, demos and videos.
Contact Marketing if you would like to know more about the U of A's implementation.
How do I get started with Sitecore
Whether you are migrating to Sitecore or starting fresh, the first step is to contact us.
Will the CMS built by Marketing continue to be supported?
Yes - for the time being. We are working on moving all current clients from the current CMS to the Sitecore CMS.
When will my site on the current CMS be moved?
It is the responsibility of each unit to contact us when they are ready to move.
Does my current site have to move to Sitecore?
No. However, you need to be aware that the old CMS is going to be decomissioned. Currently, no new sites are being built and only urgent fixes are being done to sites in the old CMS.
How do I get trained?
The Technology Training Centre (TTC) offers Sitecore training. Check the Sitecore training schedule to see when the next course is offered.
